…MY LIFE WAS OUT OF MY HANDS AND IN YOURS…
TRINADAD TO ATLANTA
“It has been almost 5 months since your Jet touched down in Trinidad to rescue me. The Trinidadian surgeon who operated on me before your arrival only found 2 of the 5 vertebrae that were broken in my back and neck and did not discover the spinal fluid leaking.
Therefore, time was critical and getting back to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta was imperative. At this point my life was out of my hands and in yours. My family explained to me the sequence of events that Jet I.C.U. rapidly executed to get me back to the United States. You even let my friend from Trinidad hitch a ride back with us. He told me the demeanor of your critical care crew was strictly business and extremely professional. My twin brother Andrew told me the pilot had called him several times during the flight updating my family. Emotionally this meant a great deal to them, and it speaks volumes about your staff. Due to issues with my insurance company I was able to see a copy of the in-flight patient assessment you provided. Being an Advanced EMT let me tell you I was thoroughly impressed with the attention to detail to my vitals.
“Jet I.C.U. was a key component to my further existence on this earth! The words I say now aloud, ‘thank you for being there for me,’ come from my heart. Thank you so much for the compassion you showed my family and those who were close to me during this difficult time.”
…YOU WHO HAVE ENABLED ME TO LIVE TO SEE MY CHILDREN GROW…
CANCUN, MEXICO TO MANCHESTER, ENGLAND
“This is a very belated letter of thanks to all at Jet ICU, but in particular, to all the crew of N70LJ from the 27th and 28 of November 2007.
“I have been a pilot since gaining a license whilst I was still at school, joining the RAF directly from university, spending most of my time as a fighter pilot, including 30 operational missions during the Gulf War. But it was on a stopover during my work as an airline captain in Cancun Mexico when I had an accident in the sea, breaking my neck at C3, 4, 5 leaving me unconscious and face down in the water. Some passers-by rescued me, and resuscitated me on the beach before lifeguards and paramedics arrived. I was transferred to intensive care, where the following night my breathing failed completely; when I woke up in the morning I had a tracheostomy and was on a ventilator. Two days later still in that condition, strapped to a spinal board Jet ICU flew me back to Manchester, England.
“Apparently, I suffered no jetlag (I think I was sleeping most of the way!) because the following morning I was ready to go into the operating theatre to have my neck “fixed”. Sadly of course, after such a serious spinal-cord injury there is no such thing as fixing; the shattered parts of my vertebrae were removed to be replaced by a chunk of my right hip and a large titanium plate. Subsequently, the consulting staff told me that I would probably be on a ventilator for the rest of my life and it was unlikely that I would regain any significant movement other than being able to move my head about an inch from side to side. To someone who has been so fit and able this kind of news was devastating.
“However, three months later I had worked at my breathing with the physiotherapists and was ready to be weaned off the ventilator. A few days later the tracheostomy was removed and I was able to sit up in a wheelchair for the first time. Less than six months after my accident a team of friends and family pushed me round the course of the Great Manchester Run to raise money for charity. Sadly though, I would not be able to leave hospital and return home until nearly 2 years after my accident. A very long time to be away from my home and loved ones. Next month will see me being pushed round the course in Manchester for the fourth time, hopefully going even faster than last year. I’m determined that despite my serious disability I will still be able to do many things in my life. With the help of assistive technology, a computer mouse I control with my mouth, and voice recognition software I’m able to learn new skills with a computer.
“Without the help of all the guys at Jet ICU, and one or two others of course, none of this would have been possible. I will be forever grateful to all of you who have enabled me to live to see my children grow up. Please accept my heartfelt thanks to all of you who have helped me along what has at times been a very rocky road, I will be forever in your debt. Good luck in all you do, fly safe, keep the same number of takeoffs as landings, and enjoy life, all the very best,”

…MOST SINCERE THANK YOU THAT A MOM AND DAD AND FAMILY COULD EVER GIVE…
ROATAN, HONDURAS TO MIAMI, FLORIDA
First let me say I’m sorry it has taken me so long to write. My name is Kathy and I am Mary S.’s mom, we briefly met in the ER at Miami Children’s Hospital. She was only 16 when you transported her from Roatan Honduras. Mary did have Guillain Barre’ Syndrome, she spent 5 days in the Pediatric ICU and then 4 days in the Neuro floor. They feel that because she got to the hospital so quickly, they were able to diagnose her early. She recovered very rapidly. She is walking now and doing everything a normal 16 year old girl does. Everyone feels she has had a miraculous recovery and is amazed at how well she is doing. So let me end my letter with the most sincere thank you that a mom and dad and family could ever give. You went and brought our little girl back to us. Words could never express our appreciation. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
…WE CANNOT PRAISE THEM ENOUGH FOR THE SUPPORT AND REASSURANCES…
KINGSTON, JAMAICA TO FT. LAUDERDALE
Please would you pass on our grateful thanks to the team including Matt and Roger who helped transporting us and all our equipment from Kingston, Jamaica to Ft. Lauderdale on March 8th. My husband Peter and I had experienced a fairly traumatic time at the hospital in Jamaica and we were very relieved when Matt and roger arrived at the hospital and with their very professional caring approach, facilitated our return to the cruise ship in Oriana. We feel that we cannot praise them enough for the support and reassurances the provided and the effort they went to make our return to the ship as smooth as possible even though we had only fifteen minutes before sailing! We are safely at home now and Peter is feeling better day by day. We would like to say thank you again and please keep up the good work! Best Wishes,
…HOW AWESOME YOUR SERVICES WERE IN TRANSPORTING MY SON…
BAHAMAS TO SYRACUSE, NY
I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how awesome your services were in transporting my son, David from the Bahamas to Syracuse, NY. From the moment we were in your care, I felt very comfortable and much more relieved.
I would definitely recommend your services to anyone who’s ever in the same situation I was. I couldn’t have ever expected any more.
…WE APPRECIATE ALL YOUR CARE AND HELPFULNESS…
BAHAMAS TO SYRACUSE, NY
I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate all your care and helpfulness. You flew my husband and me from Grand Cayman. He was the one with the heart attack on Royal Caribbean on his 60th birthday. You were all so nice and made us comfortable in a stressful situation. Very good key lime pie by the way.
We spent twelve days at Aventura hospital. All in all, he is doing great. I just wanted to let you know that we really appreciated the caring attitude and service.
…OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS AND MANY FRIENDS ARE ENORMOUSLY GRATEFUL…
TORTOLA TO MIAMI
I cannot begin to describe the depth of gratitude that I feel towards you for the care and services you provided to me recently in getting me from Tortola to Miami. You saved my life on that flight for which I, my wife, my daughters, other family members and many friends are enormously grateful. Tonight as I write this, I am sat on a super comfortable king-size bed in an enormous room- having this afternoon been discharged from the hospital. It’s been quite a week but tasting that fresh air outside the hospital this afternoon is a moment I shall not forget. You three were my personal Christmas Angels, thank you. In due course I hope to be able to meet again so as to be able to thank you in person (though I would push for different circumstances next time!). I wish you all the merriest of Christmases and the best for 2012. If it were not for you, neither of those would be in my future.
…YOUR EMPLOYEES WERE EXTREMELY HELPFUL…
ST. CROIX TO MIAMI FL
In early July our five year old grandson fell approximately 18 feet off a wall on to cement. He was in extensive pain and it was obvious his leg was badly broken and so was his arm. Other injuries were yet to be determined. His parents rushed him to the hospital in St. Croix (where we were vacationing) and found there were no specialists, etc. etc. we realized we had to get him off the island to Miami Children’s Hospital as quickly as possible. We immediately went online and found your ambulance service. We called and your employees were extremely helpful, got all information needed from us and called the doctor in St. Croix and got information from him. Although it was night time you got a jet to St. Croix early the next morning and kept us (as very worried grandparents) informed constantly of the progress. You had arranged for an ambulance to meet your jet on landing and your nurses went in the ambulance to pick up our grandson and his parents.
Everything was a nightmare for us and his parents until your crew arrived. My daughter said the nurses and pilots were like angels. They kept our grandson as comfortable as possible and even had a teddy bear for him to hug! His parents were given blankets and drinks. The flight was smooth and you had an ambulance waiting at the other end to take them to the emergency room at Children’s.
We had checked on other services but they couldn’t get to St. Croix until much later and they were considerably more expensive. We cannot thank you enough, you were all just wonderful and we highly recommend your service! By the way, our grandson is doing well. He has graduated from a wheelchair to can and can get around well on his own.
…THANKS TO YOU, YOUR DOCTORS AND ALL YOUR STAFF FOR THE SUPERB CARE…
You brought my sister-in-law home to Freeman Hospital in Newcastle upon Tyne, England last weekend.
I am emailing simply to convey my thanks to you, your doctors and all your staff for the superb care you gave to Dorothy on the flight over here. I know she will want to do this herself when she is more recovered but in the meantime please accept my thanks. I know that her daughters will also be contacting you. They are so pleased to have their Mum home again.
I’d be very grateful if you could pass on these thanks to everyone involved. We are all so grateful to you.
…IMPRESSED BY ALL OF YOUR PROFESSIONALISM AND ATTENTION…
MIAMI TO FARNBOROUGH LONDON
Firstly, I would like to thank you and your team for your professionalism and care in transporting myself and my dad from Miami back to Farnborough airport in London. We were both impressed by all of your professionalism and attention. Please pass on our thanks to everyone including Josh and Tim who were excellent and made dad very comfortable and relaxed. He is continuing his rehab and hopefully will make good progress in the coming months.
…FOREVER GRATEFUL FOR YOU AND YOUR ENTIRE ORGANIZATION…
TURKEY TO US
I am forever grateful for you and your entire organization. I might still be in Turkey if it wasn’t for you. That was such an ordeal, being injured and not able to be in the U.S. for treatment. The Turkish people were kind, but the care we have in the United States is far superior to theirs. When everyone in your group arrived on Wednesday, I felt like the Cavalry had arrived. I’ve told everyone how American it was, lots of confidence, take-charge attitude and excellent care. I can’t begin to say enough nice things about all of your people. The care was exceptional and I’ll appreciate you until the day I die! Everyone in our community has heard about you, you deserve accolades galore!
The beautiful flowers you sent were wonderful. I’m a flower person so it means a lot to someone like me. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and most of all your wonderful care!
My recovery is going quite well. I consider my surgery a success since I’m walking without a cane and doing extremely well.
Please covey my appreciation to all the people that helped me return to the US from Turkey. A million thanks to each and every one at JET ICU!
…I COULD HAVE BEEN PARALYZED FOR LIFE IF I HAD NOT GOTTEN THERE WHEN I DID…
SPAIN TO FLORIDA
Barbara and I can’t thank you enough for all you did for me, in June, when you brought me to Florida from Spain. The reason it has taken me this long to write to you is that I have undergone three separate major surgeries since then and am only now coming back to the real world. Know that you really did save my life as the surgeon said my nerve canal sack was exposed with parts of two discs impinging inside. He said this could have caused bleeding, and at the very least, I could have been paralyzed for life if I had not gotten there when I did. We will always be eternally grateful for your kindness and efficiency.
…YOU MAY NOT REMEMBER, BUT HOW CAN I EVER FORGET YOU…
MUMBAI TO TORONTO
You may not remember, but how can I ever forget you. Both of you were with me when you were flying me from Mumbai Hospital to Toronto, long back in 2009 after I suffered a stroke. Since then I have come across so many good nurses but none could erase the beautiful memories I have about you two. I am much better now. Meera joins me in wishing you both and your families a very happy and healthy 2012 and all the years to come.
…CREW MEMBERS WERE PROFESSIONAL AND CARING…
You transported my wife and me from Islip to New Orleans on December 3, 2005. It was from our first contact (a telephone call a day or two before the flight) until we bid goodbye in New Orleans- a highly satisfactory experience. All crew members were professional and caring and added a pleasant personal touch to the trip. As you probably know this was very important to my family.
We were greeted by our son who asked how I felt about the trip. I told him, “It was one of the best decisions I ever made during my life.”
…TAKING THE EXTRA TIME AND GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND…
COLORADO TO MASSACHUSETTS.
Thank you for taking the extra time and going above and beyond to assist my brother and our family during the transition from Colorado to Massachusetts.
…THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL CARE…
BROOKSVILLE TO JACKSON, MICHIGAN
My friends family and I thank you for the wonderful care you have my husband Jack. The medical team, the flight professionals, and the fast trip home from Brooksville to Jackson, Michigan on May 14th. He was able to see his brother, nephews, best friends and family. He was at peace before he died on May 19th. Your team made it possible.
…HOW GREAT WE WERE TREATED BY YOUR CREW…
CHICAGO TO MARKO ISLAND
I’m writing in reference to a flight I traveled on from Chicago to Marko Island. Passengers were my sister, her daughter Erin, and I John M. My sister was on the stretcher during the flight.
What I’m taking this time to write is how great we were treated by your crew. Roger, Ken and of course our pilots Mike and Bill. They are first class professionals in all aspects of your business.
Would love to see this compliment put in their lives. They were the best.
…SO IMPRESSED WITH THE COORDINATION…
MAUI TO FORT WAYNE
Butch and I were so impressed with the coordination between your most wonderful staff and understanding our medical needs. We were extremely in awe of how every step of the way went so smoothly, which was most comforting and eased our anxiety in this time of concern!
Our heartfelt thanks for caring for us and I’m please to say Butch is almost back to normal. It was great getting such fine care from Maui to our home and to have our Doctor’s and family to care for Butch and console me.
We want you to know that the medical team was excellent. They were at our side in the Maui Hospital room, took us to the ambulance and to the jet. When we arrived in Fort Wayne, again they accompanied us by ambulance to the hospital… We were home!!!
…WE APPRECIATE YOU ALL VERY MUCH AND WILL NEVER FORGET THIS ADVENTURE…
Thank you so very much to you and your team for getting Mark and I home to Salt Lake City safe and sound. We appreciate you all very much and will never forget this adventure!
…DEDICATION AND COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY IS OUTSTANDING…
LAKELAND, FLORIDA TO ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA
On behalf of the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I would like to thank you for your generosity by transporting the nineteen year old from Lakeland, Florida to St. Paul, Minnesota, returning him home after a life altering brain injury. Your dedication and commitment to the community is outstanding and we are so proud of all that you do and have accomplished.
…MOST PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT OF THE FLIGHT …
Thank you for your most professional management of the flight brining our late brother home to Pennsylvania. His nine brothers and sisters were happy for him to be home with all of us when he passed on June 25th.
…WE HAVE BRAGGED UP YOUR TEAM TO ANYONE WHO LISTENS …
Chuck and I want to thank you once again for all you did for us. We have bragged up your team to anyone who listens in Pittsburgh. Thank you also for the birthday cake. It was delicious!! Chocolate, my favorite. That was quite thoughtful.

…CANNOT BEGIN TO EXPRESS MY GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION FOR EVERYTHING…
NJ TO NY
I hope all is well with you and the crew that flew my dad and me to NJ last Friday. Just wanted to let you know that he is doing well, actually even better than we all expected. Since arriving in NY, his spirits have been high and energy level increasing a bit every day. I cannot begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for everything you and JET ICU did for my family. From those who were instrumental in explaining the process, to the nurse who talked to me about my options and even called a few places on my behalf. Then there were you guys on the flight… God sent, Heaven’s Angels!!!
May the Lord bless you guys every day you embark upon another flight to care for the sick, guide you with care and return you to your families, in the same compassionate manner that you have done for me, my father, and my family.
…THEY SAVED A LIFE AND THAT LIFE WAS MINE…
ATLANTA, GEORGIA TO HOUMA, LOUISIANA
My name is LuCinda and I was flown from Atlanta, Georgia to Houma, Louisiana last year. I am very grateful for all of the help. I would like to thank everyone who helped my family with this flight. I would like to let everyone there to know they saved a life and that life was mine. Thanks a million!
…GRATEFUL THAT YOU BROUGHT ME HOME SAFELY…
SIBERIA TO AMERICA
We are wishing you a Merry Christmas and all the best in 2008! We still think of you often and feel grateful that you brought me home safely from Siberia. The little girl on the left in the pic on the front is the girl we adopted from Khabarovsk. She will have been with us one year on December 22nd. She is doing well as an American! I am doing well too and enjoying good health. In April, I will run a ½ marathon. Thanks for dedicating your lives to bringing people home. There truly is no place like home.
…TOOK WONDERFUL CARE OF MY HUSBAND AND MYSELF…
Thank you so much for making our return so comfortable. You all will always be in our hearts. You all took wonderful care of my husband and myself and got us home safely. Fred is doing well and is now home and will be doing outpatient therapy three times per week. It was a great pleasure to meet people as wonderful as you.
…THANK YOU AND YOUR PERSONNEL FOR THEIR CONCERN AND CARE OF MY DAD…
To thank you and your personnel for their concern and care of my dad on April 20th. We “the family” would recommend your service to anyone we know. Thank you again.
…NEVER KNOW HOW DEEPLY AN ACT OF KINDNESS CAN TOUCH A HEART…
We never know how deeply an act of kindness can touch a heart. Just wanted to let you know how very much your thoughtfulness was appreciated.
…THANK YOU FOR CARING FOR HIM AND BRINGING HIM BACK HOME TO US…
The family and friends of David McKay want to thank you for caring for him and bringing him back home to us with such compassionate care! You are a very professional team and we are grateful for your time and service.
…MADE US EVEN MORE GRATEFUL…
Thank you for your thoughtful and kind condolences. Our family is in a deep appreciation for all that you did to help us. Booty and my flight home allowed him to continue his fight for life on American soil. The care and consideration for the two of us during this flight made us even more grateful. Although Booty did not remember the flight until later, he knew the care you took for us. Thank you for all you did and all that you do.
…PLEASE EXTEND MY SINCEREST GRATITUDE TO YOUR STAFF FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE…
Congratulations on your outstanding compliance monitoring site survey conducted by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services on February 15th. We found no deficiencies that were not corrected during our site survey. Your aircraft and service records were outstanding. Thank you for being a role model of excellence as an EMS provider in the state of Florida.
Also, please extend my sincerest gratitude to your staff for their assistance and for the overall contribution to your service and community. Your continued support of emergency medical services is deeply appreciated.
…YOU PLAYED SUCH AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN CHARLIE’S RECOVERY…
How wonderful to receive your message it made our day!
We never really got to thank you for bringing our wonderful Charlie home safely, so thank you, a huge warm thank you.
We still can’t believe what happened, thankfully I kept a journal during our ‘holiday!’ and we have spent time reflecting on Charlie’s scary stay in ICU at Dr. Phillips.
As for the journey with yourselves! Mary and Brian our wonderful JET ICU team turned up at the hospital and poor Chaz started to struggle straight away; his heart rate went through the roof and he started to reject the ventilator AGAIN. Stupidly both Owen (Charlie’s dad) and I thought that the ambulance would be taking us to the main airport check in, so when we arrived on the runway we were terrified – it confirmed just how seriously ill Charlie was. Bless you I will always remember you coming over to me trying to reassure me about our flight home, telling me that we would be flying higher than commercial airlines, little did you know but I am terrified of flying; so the thought of going even higher sent me rigid with fear, however, I would not have been anywhere else.
Charlie’s progress has been slow, but he is progressing. We have continued to spend time in both ICU and A&E due to his condition. He struggles with his oxygen level and is still running tachy cardy, the healthcare professionals are sure he will make a slow but good recovery. It is likely Charlie will need surgery at a later date due to a deformity with his sternum (Pectus Excavatum) this caused a lot of problems in the USA and put him into respiratory failure five times.
We are looking at a particular ‘magnet system’ for the surgery, which at the moment is only performed in America – you never know we may call on your wonderful services again!!!
As Charlie is still quite unwell at the moment, we have decided to postpone a big birthday bash until the summer, it would be unfair for the rest of us to celebrate his 18th and he can’t! We sent an email back in December to Brian and Mary who are very kindly organizing a birthday wish from them put onto a disc. This is something we want to share with his friends and family at his birthday party; we would love if you could also become involved in this if it’s not asking too much. If you can’t do a video message would it be possible for you to send a picture of both yourself and your copilot; sorry his name escapes me (this makes him no less important to us). You played such an important role in Charlie’s recovery, in fact in saving his life and although Owen and I can close our eyes and remember every detail of all the faces of the people that helped safe our son, Charlie however, has no recollection and struggles with nightmares and hallucinations most nights. Having pictures of the people that helped him will enable him to process and build a picture of what happened and put the pieces of puzzle together.
As a team you kept Charlie safe and sound and we will forever be indebted to you all. You play an amazing role in bringing home seriously unwell people, Owen and I still discuss with our families and friends the overwhelming professionalism and warmth shown by the JET ICU team. We could never for see what happened to our family but were so grateful that an amazing team were on standby to help keep our son with us.
Thank you again Eric and please pass on our thanks to your copilot and send all our love and best wishes to Brian and Mary – we miss them dearly.
Finally, it is wonderful to know that Charlie is still in your thoughts – he is a wonderful young man that does so much for others, we hope that one day he can personally thank you.
…YOU ARE AN AMAZING TEAM AND I WILL TRULY MISS YOU…
I wanted to take a moment to tell you how much you have meant to me and my true gratitude for all you did, sometimes in the middle of the night to help me with a difficult case. Seriously, I can’t thank you enough for your kindness, patience and professionalism. You are an amazing team and I will truly miss you. Perhaps someday in the future, our paths will meet at some travel event. My best to you……
…WE THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS FOR THE “RESCUE”…
First of all, may we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the “rescue”, and our subsequent delivery home. Your cool professionalism and caring exuded confidence, and as a result, provided us with much needed relief. We just knew that from the moment you entered the scene that we were in good hands. Thank you, thank-you for that. Ian is still in the hospital but this will end on Friday and then he will be able to come home. We will never forget this journey, but home sounds very appealing for a while.
…WAS ANOTHER AMAZING GESTURE OF THE QUALITY OF JET ICU SERVICE AND CARE…
The beautiful arrangement you sent mom was another amazing gesture of the quality of JET ICU service and Care. Thank you so much for all you did to make a very stressful event so comfortable and professionally handled. May God bless you with safety in traveling and mercy in all the ways you need in providing such wonderful service.
…YOU HAVE MADE HIS DREAMS COME TRUE IN A HUGE WAY…
I believe that sometimes God sends people into our lives to bring blessings to us… you are one of those people… in my heart you are an angel sent by God!
You have made his dreams come true in a huge way. I fell that you have helped him by providing him with something so wonderful and positive and to think about and remember… that this will help him with the healing process!
